MAUI

We just returned from an amazing trip to Maui, Hawaii.  We were there for 7 days.  Our hotel room faced a golf course and was 30 seconds from the beach. True paradise.  We alternated beach days with activities.  We went to the Maui Ocean Center and learned about all of the indigenious fish.  We drove the Hana Highway.  It takes 3 hours and is very curvy but there are rain forests, black sand beaches and a lot of waterfalls. We stopped half way for some ice cream and banana bread.  Of course we had to drive it all the way back. The kids did great. We went snorkeling in Honochau Bay and Black Rock.  Sierra and Kira saw sea turtles feeding off the rocks underwater.  Sky and I missed that but saw puffer fish and trigger fish.  I put the kids in surf lessons.  All three stood up on their boards and rode the wave in.  They loved it.  The instructors were patient and encouraging.  Proud moment. We went to a Luau on Father's Day.  It was interesting to see the roast pig come out of the ground and then get served on the buffet.  The dances were very entertaining.  Kira even got up on stage and learned the Hula.  We also had to shop at Whaler's village. The trip went fast.  We all had a great time.
