Mexico

We enjoyed a fun trip to Cancun from Aug. 6th to the 12th.  We arrived at our hotel, Crown Paradise, in the early afternoon.  Once we were settled in our hotel room, we had dinner and hit the beach. The water was warm and the sand, white and soft.  We stayed until the sun went down.  Beautiful sunsets every night.  We went to Chichen Itza to visit the pyramids: the new 5th wonderful of the world.  On the way we had the chance to swim in a Cenote.  The water was cold and refreshing.  Tons of black fish swimming by us.  We then went to a buffet restaurant for lunch.  We got to watch some traditional Mexican dances.  The kids enjoyed the performance.  The pyramids were awesome.  You can no longer climb the stairs of the pyramid but we walked around many ruins.  Lots of iguanas.  Sky had a great time chasing them.  The next day was a beach and swim pool day at the hotel.  They have 5 pools, 2 water slides, and a miniature golf course.  Of course the girls had to have their hair braided with beads. We spent another day at Isla Mujeres and swam with sharks.  Dolphins must be passe.  We also visited a turtle reserve. It was fun driving around the island on a golf cart.  We celebrated Kira's 17th birthday in the hotels Italian restaurant.  They made her a gourmet chocolate cake with her name on it.  Spoiled.  On another day we rented jet skis and went through alligator swamps.  That was really fun. That same day we went to Senior Frogs for dinner. Yum.  We packed in a lot of things but I would have liked to stay a few more days.
