Oregon Road Trip Part 1
We left for our family road trip to Oregon on July 21st. We drove through Nevada to Oregon. From Oregon into California and then back up to Oregon. We drove 13 hours to Medford, OR. the first day. We stopped at an old military museum in Nevada. They had some neat tanks and planes on display. But the mosquito's ate us alive. We got to our hotel early enough where the kids could swim and have dinner. The hotel, a Super 8, had a twirly slide. This makes long road trips much better. The next morning we had breakfast and headed to the Redwoods. We spent a half day just admiring the trees, ferns and quietness of it all. Magical. We hiked Stout Grove and Howland Hill trails in the Jedediah Smith Redwoods, California. The kids earned their Junior Ranger badges for the Redwoods. They were sworn in and everyone clapped. They had to fill out a pamphlet on facts about the Redwoods and turn it in to the park ranger. Then, we drove up the California coast back into Oregon, stopping at beaches along the way... Part 2 coming soon.
